Krystle Marie Medina was born to Cuban immigrants in Miami, Florida. She grew up in a bilingual home as the oldest of three children. Krystle was raised in a working class family where her mother worked in a factory. From the time she was a young girl, her mother encouraged and supported her to be motivated, independent, and hardworking. Krystle went to a private high school on an academic scholarship. When her scholarship was eliminated due to budget cuts, she mimicked her mother’s work ethic and took a job as a janitor to pay for her senior year’s tuition. After high school, she graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 2007. She then went on to law school where she graduated cum laude from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law in
2010.
In 2011, Krystle and her fiance, Charlie, moved to Michigan and immediately made Lincoln Park their home. In 2014, Krystle opened her law practice in Lincoln Park focusing on immigration and criminal law. Since establishing her roots in Lincoln Park she has dedicated herself to her community. She proudly served on the Lincoln Park Planning Commission and currently serves on the Public Safety Commission.
Krystle also sponsors and supports many community events, including: Downriver Families Against Narcotics, Police and Fire Department charity events, the Lincoln Park High School football team, Fantasyland, Toys for Tots, River Rouge’s No Kids Without a Christmas, the Lincoln Park Community Center and several others.
After a decade of practice, Krystle has decided to continue her public service by running as judge of the 25th District Court. Her loyalty and commitment to the community coupled with her success as an advocate makes her the best candidate for the position. In her spare time Krystle enjoys spending time with her fiance, Charlie, and snuggling with her rescue dog, Bubba.
